In the late spring of 1955, an up-and-coming actor named Anupam Kher was born in Shimla to Pushkar Nath Kher, a clerk in the forest department, and Dulari Kher, a housewife. He has a brother who is also an actor, called Raju Kher. His schooling was completed in Shimla at the D.A.V. Public School, and he then went on to study at the National School of Drama, New Delhi.

Anupam Kher Career

Anupam Kher made his debut on the silver screen with the 1982 film Aagman, and as a 28-year-old, he was cast in Mahesh Bhatt’s drama Saransh as a father who loses his only son. As well as becoming a commercial success, the movie was a critical success and India’s official submission for the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. His astounding performance earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
